Sean DJ

SeanDJ needs no introduction; you know the smile by now! 😄 Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Sean grew up in a musical family. He moved to the UK in 2001 where he started DJing properly later that year.

A friend Jay Beatz introduced Sean to the craft, and DJ Special Edd developed him to become the multi-genre DJ he is today. Edd introduced Sean to DJ Big Dave who helped him appreciate some of the old school Hip-Hop and R&B music that was before his time.

Sean’s been part of Mixdat since its beginnings in 2003. Early highlights include Mixdat’s monthly instalment of Hot Sauce – a Reggae/Dancehall night at SoulTree, and doing the warm-up set for Trevor Nelson at Innocence Night Club.

“DJing has always been a hobby, and a way to get away from the pressures of life. So after a short hiatus between 2011-2017, DJ Special Edd and I came back together to revive the Squad and injected some new blood along the way. You can find me playing in multiple venues alongside my long-time DJ partner Special Edd. It could be a small bar, a fitness event, a festival or even your Nan’s back garden.”
