DJ Special Edd started DJing in the early 90s, being heavily influenced by two older family members. He began occasionally playing at house parties and gigs around Cambridge and London. 🎧
The real boost came when he launched his own radio show in Leicester whilst studying as an undergraduate, beginning to play multiple genres of music. With this exposure, he gained lots of contacts as well as a good growth in his record collection. After university, Edd moved back to Cambridge and continued DJing locally, whilst also taking the opportunity to go outside the U.K. on some occasions.
His highlights include coming runner-up in the national Movida Corona DJing Competition back in the early 2000s. Edd took a break for a while to work in Australia and Ghana, but the passion never left so as soon as he returned to Cambridge, he naturally fell back into the DJ scene, and continues to share his passion for music across various venues in Cambridge today.
